Founded in 1996, The Premises Music Education Programme (PMEP) meets the demand for quality music education in a professional studio environment, distinct from traditional music colleges. PMEP has hosted numerous courses spanning jazz vocals , piano, bass, drum, blues, and more! Notably, our Voice Jam during school half terms reimagines choir singing by infusing rap and beats, culminating in professional recordings.
We are very proud of our collaborations with organisations such as Hackney Music Service and Tower Hamlets Music Education Service, which have extended our reach into local secondary schools.
We are looking at new strategies to expand our range of partnerships with other organisations keen to extend what they can offer their musically minded service users.
PARTNERSHIPS & BENEFICIARIES
Hackney Music Service is the number one music education provider for Hackney Schools. They offer a variety of programmes to schools and young people including instrument and singing lessons, instrumental ensembles and choirs, and music curriculum support. We've been working in conjuction with HMS for many years now to encourage and help develop career paths for young people who want to pursue music professionally.
Women in Jazz is an organisation dedicated to championing female artists through live programming, mentoring, and storytelling. Working with partners including Southbank Centre, Montreux Jazz Festival and leading UK and European festivals, WIJ creates meaningful opportunities, visibility and community for emerging and established voices across the jazz landscape.
Live Music Now creates inclusive, measurable social impact through music. Our work enhances quality of life, health and well-being, and promotes equity of opportunity by recognising the creative potential of every individual. Live Music Now reaches over 55,000 people a year and trains and employs 320 professional musicians from all genres. You can find our musicians in healthcare settings, care homes, schools, community centres and libraries in England, Northern Ireland and Wales and in Scotland with our sister organisation Live Music Now Scotland.
Help Musicians is a charity for professional musicians of all genres, both in work and in retirement.
They help at times of crisis, but also at times of opportunity, giving people the support they need at the crucial stages that could make or break their career.
Daylight Studio provides opportunities for disabled individuals to explore their creative potential and thrive as artists. The charity's work includes music creation, professional opportunities such as helping artists release music through professional channels, and setting up live performances and workshops within the local community.
Invisible Needs connects schools and communities with arts and cultural experiences for children with SEND. Their recent work includes The Right to Play project, where pupils from schools in Huddersfield and London created stories, songs, puppets, and a film exploring the backstory of Seb Mayer’s giant giraffe. Using the UNICEF Rights of the Child charter, children with SEND also wrote and produced a song and video promoting children’s rights.
